For almost travelers, Hoian is really an attractive destination for its centuries-old  relics, charming nights lit up by handmade lanterns, and interesting cruises on Hoai River flowing through it. 1. Quang Noodle

Quang Noodle is a popular dish in Hoian ancient town. Cao lau is usually served with bean sprouts, slices of crispy croutons and green vegetables which must be taken from Tra Que village, an ancient village famous from producing fresh vegetables throughout Hoian.

4. Banh Xeo

Walking along small streets in Hoian, tourists cannot help hearing the joyful sound of cooking and smelling attractive flavor of banh Xeo coming out of street stalls. This dish is really suitable for enjoying hot in the cold season. Unlike banh Xeo in many other regions of Vietnam, banh Xeo in Hoian is mainly stuffed with shrimp rather than pork or beef. This dish is usually eaten with hulled mung bean and bean sprout and a lot of herbs and green vegetables to decrease fatty taste of oil and increase flavor for banh Xeo.

5. Banh Dap

Banh Dap is a very simple dish in Hoian, but its specially delicious taste easily makes the big impression on foreign tourists. This dish simply contains two kinds of rice paper: one is white, thin and sticky and another is dry, crispy and brittle. Banh Dap requires a right eating way to enjoy fully the delicious taste of the dish. Firstly, you place a wet pancake on a sticky one. Then apply some mung bean paste and place some fried chopped shallots and shredded spring onion. Lastly, don’t forget add another dry pancake before breaking the sandwich with the hand. The dish must be eaten with “mam cai”, a kind of fermented and salted fish paste that is very similar to the central region.
